Let's talk about Peter's Wicked World

In 2002, the story - written by Damian Drake - that will be told here had already been filmed once. At that time, it set new standards, because the film came up with 3 alternative endings, for which the viewer could decide. However, the film version from 2002 has been forgotten and unfortunately it is no longer up to date, so the director and producer Marvin Faraday decided to shoot this film again and catapult it into today's time, because the time has changed a lot.

Plot of the film

Since 2007, smartphones have dominated our lives and with them, the lives of teenagers have also changed greatly, so that in the remake of SUICE DIARY (now called PETER'S WICKED WORLD) we will not be able to avoid taking a critical look at the media consumption of teenagers and what it means for a teenager when he is bullied on social platforms.

The original story of the book was told in 18 chapters, and in 18 days, in which Peter pours his heart out to the viewer, the film will be told. 18 days in which we can watch Peter lose himself more and more in a digital world and discover that he is not the only victim bullied by his schoolmates, so that he asks himself whether his life makes sense at all anymore or whether he should take revenge on all those who make his life so difficult ...

CASTING CALL for a teenaged boy (15 - 18) for an experimental film about suicide and domestic violence. We will film in Germany (located in Hann. Münden) and we pay you 250€ per day. We probably film for a week. Travel expenses will be paid as well. The Casting

What do we expect from the young actor who is to portray Peter? We expect you to be able to act alone in front of the camera and to captivate the viewer with your voice and your appearance alone. In most of the scenes, you are the only one to be seen, telling your camera or smartphone about the great suffering that plagues you, that you don't belong and that you are ostracized by your schoolmates.

There is a script that specifies the content of the individual shooting days, but we expect you to identify with the role and also be willing to improvise. In plain language, this means that you can make this film your own by simply telling about yourself.

We even give you the freedom to bring your own ideas, your own talents, and your own preferences to the film, so you're not playing a fictional character, you're basically playing yourself, for which we just give you a few guidelines and then you're free to interpret how you want to film each day.

Original footage from SUICIDE DIARY (2002) - DAY 11

Filming will take place exclusively in Hann. Münden and the surrounding area. The shooting will start as soon as we have found the right person for the role. In close consultation with you, we will then plan a week in which we will shoot the film. During this time you and a companion will travel to Germany, where we will put you up in a guesthouse. Your travel expenses will of course be reimbursed. We want to start shooting in the middle or end of August at the latest, so that the film will be ready in autumn at the latest.

About the Author

Damian Drake was 15 years old when the rampage in Winnenden happened, and he saw the horrific images on television that prompted him to write this book. Although there had been rampages before, but in the middle of his adolescence, Damian felt this rampage as particularly terrible; not least because of the thought that he too could have been among the victims - or else ... the rampage runner himself!

For he, too, went through a difficult time and was subjected to similar harassment as the protagonist in this book. But instead of taking up a gun, Damian took up a pen and produced this book in less than a week. Inspired by the 2002 film SUICIDE DIARY, Damian wrote a remarkably candid work designed to provoke thought.

Because in his opinion, there are numerous ''ticking time bombs'' out there who will explode sooner or later because they can no longer bear to carry this heavy burden on their shoulders. And while Damian was writing this book, he not only questioned himself, but also asked two of his friends a pretty specific question: what's stopping you from becoming a spree killer? Why don't you just do it?

And the answers he received he let flow into this book.

Thus this book can be understood ''as a voice of our generation''; as an outcry, which hopefully finds hearing.

And Damian thought the same thing when he put this diary on paper after a few days: It must be possible to make ourselves heard! However, he did not think that he would encounter a lot of resistance. He sent his manuscript to a publishing house that publishes books on demand, and publishes just about ''any crap''. But after some time, he got a rejection letter:

''Based on the content of this book, we refrain from publishing it ...''

And at the same time there was a hail of publications after the Winnenden rampage, and numerous ''experts'' gave their two cents on how to avoid rampages in the future. Damian believed that the ''voice of the youth'' wanted to be silenced, because it did not conform to the statistics that many a whistle-blower put forward. And he knew that it is completely different reasons that make a child become a spree killer.

However, he did not let the rejection get him down, and so he continued to look for a way to make himself and his friends heard. Because he also knew that reading this book could prevent persons from making a serious mistake ... and that's why we make a film out of it because Peter's voice has to be heard ...
